Why It Is Time To Say Thank You Even More

I am ending a week of TV and radio interviews where everyone is asking me different versions of the same question:

What do we need to be doing right now Val?

Everyone is looking for guidance, a crystal ball prediction, the winning horse for the 3 pm race, the company to bet on, what decision to take.

Of course, I have lots of guidance on how to help with those decisions, how you have to make decisions in hours, not days or weeks, how the 10 am 2 pm decision test is the ultimate way to make a rapid decision at 10 am and implement it by 2 pm.

…but what we really all need to be doing right now is saying thank you more frequently, more heart-felt, more specifically, to those we might not usually thank.

Please let me go first:

Thanks for continuing to read my work.

Thank you for sending your questions, feedback, and comments every week when you receive this in your inbox each Monday morning.

I am grateful for all of your public reviews of my books so others find out about themThank you for sharing my ideas onward with your social networks.

I appreciate all of the introductions you have given me to those in your circles who you think I would enjoy talking to.

I love hearing your latest news about your company's life and your whole life.

I am delighted when I get a bounce back email saying you have left your company as it gives me a chance to find out what you are doing next and follow your journey.

…are you getting annoyed yet at all of this gushing gratitude from this usually no-nonsense talking Brit?

My point is, sometimes we have to take a break to notice, be grateful and thank those we need to in the right personal way.

My wise business advisor Alan Weiss once gave me some brilliant advice “Get a therapist when everything is going well Val, so you can figure out why you are satisfied and how to repeat it.”

Earlier this year, I did just that, I started working with a therapist to help me do what I do with companies, deconstruct success so that you can fully understand it and repeat it. The experience was incredible, first to just talk to someone without a specific goal/focus or fix needed was incredibly freeing. What Dr. Susan Reedy was able to unlock for me was noticing success where my ADHD brain would drive me to speedily dash to the next accomplishment to master.

It is why I dedicated my second book to Dr. Susan Reedy. For her wisdom, support, and strengthening my mental health.

The second dedication goes to serial entrepreneur Peter Shankman, I’ll share more about my dedication to Peter in next week’s VAL-uable Insights.

Now, who are you going to go to and sincerely thank?

Dedicated to growing your business,

Val
