How To Avoid Sounding Like A Jerk When You Win An Award

Do you bury and hide your achievements or appropriately talk about them?

Too often the message that many executives need to hear is that they need to talk more about their achievements and accolades.

If you stick to facts, share them at the right time, and tell stories to the right people you can avoid sounding like a jerk when you win an award or want to talk about an accolade.

If you want to learn in detail how to uncover and talk about your achievements my “Walk down memory lane” exercise in Chapter two explains just how.

It happened to me last month.

My inner Brit didn’t want to share that my second book had won an award, the British Val wanted to quietly accept it and move on with increasing revenue and margin for my clients.

But.

If I don’t shine a spotlight on my achievements then others won’t get to hear the real life stories and all of the brilliant executives featured in Rapid Growth, Done Right. So...

It is true. The NYC Big Book Award named it Best Business Book 2020.

I even now have a matching pair as Thoughtfully Ruthless received the same award in 2017.

I’d be curious to hear your latest accolades, achievements, and awards. Send them my way!

Dedicated to growing your business,

Val
